1. How do these hypnosis recordings work?
When you listen to these state-of-the-art hypnosis recordings, you simply sit or lie down and let Peter's calm and soothing voice gently guide you into a state of deep relaxation.
This state is very similar to the one you experience just before you fall asleep at night – but you won't be asleep, you’ll be in hypnosis.
In this entirely natural state your subconscious mind is able to internalize helpful therapeutic suggestions and turn them into powerful positive beliefs.
It is our beliefs that really determine our reality and the life we live.
Of course, it's up to you whether you choose to accept or reject these suggestions – hypnosis, after all, is not mind control. The important thing to remember is that you will remain in full control at all times.
2. How often should I listen to the recordings?
We recommend that you listen to any recording each day for a minimum of two weeks.
After the first 2 weeks, listen at least 3 times a week for a month, preferably at a time other than bedtime.
After this time you can listen to them as often as you wish.
3. How does hypnosis work?
The very first thing to understand about hypnosis is that it’s absolutely safe.
For more than 50 years now the American, Canadian, Australian and British Medical Associations have recognised hypnotherapy as a valid treatment.
It’s the quickest, most effective and most natural way that there is to influence and alter behavior in a positive way.
In fact, it’s so natural that anyone of normal intelligence can be hypnotized – and this includes teenagers and children.
Perhaps the best way to define hypnosis is by saying that it's a completely natural state of awareness that can be entered into by anyone who wants it and is willing to allow it.
Despite the movies and comic books, no one can be hypnotized against their own will.
In many ways being in hypnosis is just like being in a really nice day-dreamy mood – you’re in control and aware at all times, but you’ve just changed the focus of your attention for a while. Just like a daydream, you can 'snap out of it' at any time you choose to. In the calm and relaxed state of hypnosis, the critical, judgmental faculty of the mind is naturally bypassed so that acceptable selective thinking can be established.
When we’re relaxed like this, specific suggestions can be entered into the giant ‘bio-computer’ – the subconscious mind. This is the most powerful part of the mind and it’s also the part responsible for feelings.
And it’s our feelings that strongly influence our behaviour.
So by entering selective suggestions into the subconscious mind while in hypnosis, we alter our feelings – towards food and eating, for example. That’s really all there is to it!
4. Is hypnosis completely safe?
Yes! Hypnosis is absolutely safe. It is a completely natural state. In fact, hypnosis has been around since our distant ancestors first gazed into the fire and began to day-dream. Hypnosis has been recognized by the American Medical Association and the British Medical Association as a valuable therapeutic tool for well over fifty years now. In fact, everyone has the inborn ability to enter hypnosis. This ability has nothing to do with intelligence, personality or even imagination. All that is required is that you want it and allow it. Of course, it helps if you also expect it – and with Peter's recordings you can certainly do that! You see, hypnosis is most definitely not mind control. No hypnotherapist can make you do anything you do not want to do. But hypnotherapy does have something to do with control: Good hypnotherapy puts you back in control of your own life! And this is exactly what Peter's state-of-the-art hypnosis recordings are designed to do.
5. Do I need to use earphones?
For the very best results, we recommend that you use a pair of good quality stereo headphones. Of course, if you prefer, high quality speakers can also be used to listen to any of these recordings. It really is up to your personal preference and what you find most comfortable and convenient. If you choose the instant download version, it's simplicity itself to put your hypnosis mp3 download onto CD, mp3 player, so you can listen at work or anywhere you choose with either CD or Mp3!
6. When is the best time to listen to these hypnosis recordings?
It's better to listen early or later in the day, when you're not feeling sleepy or too tired. If you listen in bed, be aware that you might just fall asleep and miss out on the programming, so try to sit comfortably, with your head nicely supported, rather than lie down in bed. Of course, you're in control, and are entirely free to listen in bed if you really want to – just as long as you’re aware that this is the easiest way to fall asleep. If this does happen, be sure to listen again when you're less tired.
7. Will it still work if I fall asleep?
When we sleep we enter the unconscious – not the subconscious – mind state. In this unconscious state the subconscious mind will not really hear or be able to receive the therapeutic programming of these hypnosis recordings.
If you wake up long after the recording has ended, and it's obvious that you were asleep, then just listen again when you’re not so tired, perhaps while sitting comfortably rather than lying down.
8. Can I overdose on these hypnosis recordings?
Absolutely not! In fact, the more you listen, the better it is.
Peter's easy to use recordings are completely safe and can be listened to time and again whenever you choose to do so.
And, of course, you do this when and where you want – in the privacy and comfort of your own home, while travelling (but never when driving), or even in the hot tub.
You can emerge from hypnosis at any time you choose – you're in charge!
9. Sometimes my mind just drifts off. Am I still getting the benefits of hypnosis?
Yes! Just as long as you hear the words at the end of the recording: 'And at the count of five, open your eyes…’ etc then you were simply in deep hypnosis and your subconscious mind received all of the helpful programming.
Don’t worry if you don’t seem to hear or remember Peter’s words, or if thoughts float in and out while listening. This is simply the conscious mind doing what it likes to do. If you just seem to drift off somewhere, that’s absolutely fine, it won’t affect the outcome of the hypnosis session at all.
10. Are Self Hypnosis Recordings as Good as 1-2-1 Hypnotherapy Session?
Peter's unique self-hypnosis recordings allow you to harness the power of your own subconscious mind in order to rapidly bring about positive change.
Naturally, the degree and rapidity of change is dependent on the time and work you invest in listening to the recordings.
Motivation also plays a big part in the success of any self-hypnosis therapy. If you have truly decided to implement change, then change will come.
Using these powerful hypnotic recordings, with time and patience, you should be able to bring about real results and change your life in a positive way.
Understandably, results will vary from person to person.
All self-hypnosis recordings utilize something called 'suggestion therapy'. This is a truly effective way of re-programming the subconscious mind by 'programming' it with positive suggestions while in the trance state of hypnosis.
Every hypnotherapist uses some form of suggestion therapy. Indeed, the majority of hypnotherapists employ only this method.
Sometimes, though, a problem may be just a bit too persistent and deep-seated to respond to this type of therapy alone. In this case, it is recommended that the individual work on a 1-2-1 basis with the hypnotherapist.
11. Do you give a guarantee?
All of our CD recordings are fully guaranteed against fault or damage.
We are proud of the fact that Peter Field’s state-of-the-art recordings work for most people, most of the time. You can be confident that every single one of our hypnosis recordings is of the very highest quality.

We do, however, offer a guarantee that all our CDs will reach you in good condition. (Your CD will arrive in an unmarked padded envelope or box for larger orders.) If any CD arrives damaged or faulty in any way, simply return it to us with a line or two explaining the fault and we will promptly replace it.
For reasons of copyright protection, we can only accept damaged or faulty CDs for replacement. Simply return the damaged or faulty CD within 28 days from date of purchase together with your proof of purchase and we will rush you a replacement - guaranteed.
12. How fast will I see results?
The more you listen to these recordings, the more powerful the effect will be.
Sometimes results are really rapid and sometimes the results will come a bit more gradually, so you will need to listen repeatedly over time in order to reap the maximum benefits.
In this way, it may be helpful if you think about it in the same way you might think of going to the gym – but this is far less tiring, since it's the gym of your mind.
So be patient and listen, listen, listen.
It took you a long time to get to where you are, it won't take nearly as long to get to where you need to be, but it will take time.
As with clients treated in our clinics, just how long that time actually is depends on your own individual response to therapy.
